My life and
health have been been spared
to continue with the 9th Ind.,
with the exception of short
intervals, up to the present time.
At our last pay day the of-
ficers of the 9th subscribed at
their own option $81.00. With
which to purchase your steel
engraving as a front is piece to
the history, which together with about
$600.00 more paid by the
regiment, with which to pub-
lish the first vol. of the work,
is now deposited in bank as
this place. The artist who is to
engrave our plate, prefer a pho-
tograph just the size of the pic-
