Dear Sir,
In compliance with an order from Brigadier
General W. L. Elliott, I have to report the following
operations of my command on the 13th, 14th, & 15th days
of June 1863.

regiment to march upon the Cedar Creek road. Ar-
riving at Union Mills on the Strasburg road, it was
ascertained that the enemy was in force upon the

10 a.m. under the direction of General Elliott, I march-
ed my regiment to the right of the Strasburg road ac-
companied by one section of Captain Carlin’s battery,
commanded by Lt. Theaker. The infantry did
not become engaged & were withdrawn to the moth of the
Cedar Creek road about 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. I receiv-
ed an order to take my regiment, the 12th Pa. Vol. Cavalry,
commanded by Lt. Col. Moss & the section of Carlin’s
battery commanded by Lt. Theaker, & make a recon-
noisance. I moved at once up the Strasburg road,
forming my infantry upon the right & center, ar-
tillery in the center & cavalry upon the left.
