                              My Dear Madam
 
                                        I received your 
note yesterday, enclosing the piece of silk, 
as requested I purchased one yard at 
Roystons, paying five dollars and a half 
($5.50) for it.  I sent it to my wife at 
Dayton Ohio with a request to forward 
by Express to Rensselaer if she had 
no opportunity of sending by private 
hand.

 
    I hope your little boys are well 
by this time.  I shall always be happy 
to be of service to you in any way.
