My dear Milroy,
I think it so certain, after
my conversation with the President that
you will be appointed, I could suggest that
you look around and see who you desire for
your staff. Reynolds had the
names of his staff here some weeks ago to be
ready for appointment.
You will of course select as you think
best, for your staff is your military family. I will
only suggest that Hon. J.F. Parker, former state
senator of Oxford is now serving as a sergeant
in the 15th. Regt. and has wanted me to get a
commission for him which I could not; and that Mr.
B. Mattingly, Ind St. in Baileys Plymouth Co.(son of Edw
of Plymouth Rep.) ahs been anxious to get higher up.
He’s in Brown’s Regt. But I will not even suggest
these. Parker I have really wanted to serve. But so I
would like to dv Loring, Bleuney, Cameron, Weimer,
Capp, and others under you in your Regt. if when you have
Handwritten; 1 sheet, 2 sides of writing; white stationery with light blue lines
