is read also Jolliffs dun with your
remarks of the 9th inst. I arrived
on the 7th inst. and I belive I
have not written to you since I have
nothing to communicated that would
be of special interest to you. and have
been waiting to hear from you. I believe
I wrote you that Cravens joined me before
I left Nashville. Beard joined me here on
the 9th with his horse “Mago” all right.
He keeps about as sober as he was at Winchester
and makes himself tolerably useful to me.
This town is but little larger than
Rensselaer. It has been a town of 3000
inhabitants before the war, but it was the head
quarters of the rebel army for some time after
the battle of Murfreesboro. It was the head qts.
of our army a while and has been occupied by
Handwritten; 2 sheets of paper, double folded, 6 sides of writing; white stationery with light blue lines
