I arrived here yesterday
morning at at two o’ clock and found all
things right. My health is excellent &
I find all here in good health. This is a
remarkably healthy country, good water &
very pure air. The weather here though
warm is not near so hot & sultry as you
have been having at the North.
I on yesterday received the enclosed
letter from Robt. Dwiggins . You will
see by it that Ciceros negligence in
answering letters & in attending to business
is likely to bring upon me the whole $6000.00
which is due upon failure to pay interest
annually on the 1st of May. I suppose
that the interest for this year has not been
paid & that I am now in the power & at
the mercy of Farris & Bro. and they have the
legal right to sue me for the whole $6000.
