I recd. the letter
on the other half of this sheet to
day from Van Rensselaer, which
surprised me very much as
you said in your last that
the money had been remitted
to Ferris & Co. to pay that debt.
I recd. a letter from Van R.
on the same subject some
three weeks ago which I sent
to Cicero, but for some reason
I never heard from him anymore.
I believe it has been near a
year since I recd. a letter from
him. I have written him a
half dozen times at least since
he wrote me. I wish you would
see Thompson & know of him
whether the money has been forwarded
