It is now about a
month since I have heard from home,
being cut of from all communication
with the World by the destruction of
Railroads & Telegraph lines both North
& South. I have no doubt but that you
have been very uneasy about me as you
will have heard of the great battles
fought here & about Nashville since
the 1st inst. We send through a
Waggon train tomorrow to Nashville
tomorrow for provisions & other
supplies. The train starts at 6A.M.
& I have not now time to give you a
full detail of the different battles I
have been through but will do so fully
as soon as I have time. I was ordered
by Gen Thomas to leave Tullahoma with
