The understand Field, Staff
and line officers of the division
lately Commanded by Major General
Robert H. Milroy, having heard
with great pride and satisfaction
that Gen. Milroy has been relieved
from all Censurein the Matter
of the evacuation of Winchester, and
restored to Command, beg leave
respectfully yet most earnestly to
ask that our beloved Commander
in whose skill, valor, and great de-
votion to the Cause of his Country and
to the Measures of the Administration
we have the most implicit Confi-
Dence, be restored to his old Di-
vision.
From our knowledge of the
Great integrity of character, high moral
worth, unquestioned- loyalty, and
Intrepidity of General Milroy, we feel that we
would rather fight under
