Enclosed I send
you $300.00 I have drawn my pay
today for this month amounting to
$438.00 and again send you the lions
share of it. I think you ought to
praise me a little for being such
a good boy. I think I can get
along till next months pay day on what
I have – Though it will be close
rub as my boarding costs me
$3.50 per day and everything here is
enormously dear. The weather here is
getting very warm. This city is most
beautifully located but most miserably
laid out. The streets are not near so
wide as the streets of Rensselaer and very
dirty. I am still waiting here for the
arrival of 100 days Regts but two
have answered and I have sent them on to
Bridgeport and Stephenson. The
ballance have been stoped in Ky. for
