Maj. J. O. Cravens
A.A.G
Sir
That portion of my Regt
remaining with me forms a part of the 2
Brig. 3d Div. 3d ? ?, Army of the Potomac.
My regiment are exceedingly anxious to be
restored to the command of Gen. Milroy:
every officer and every enlisted man feels
this desire, and on their behalf I pray
the General to use all means in his power
to have us restored. We are without any
team or ambulance, without accomodations
for our sick, without anything except what
the men carry on their backs. We are worn
down without large or frequent marches,
and we are becoming broken in spirit.
My men will fight the enemy at any time,
and under whomsoever, and to secure a battle
would patiently endure any hardship, but
we see little prospect of such occurrence.
With High Respt.
The effective force of my Yr Obt Servnt
Regiment is 150 men W H Ball
