My Dear Robert
I have been aiming to
write to you for some days, but my girl
has been gone since Saturday, until last
evening, and I have so unwell that by the
time I got through home duties, I felt so unable
to write that I postponed it from day to day.
I allowed Ben to hire a month to G. McCoy
our farmers need help so much , and so
many are wanting him I consented to
let him go, but when he gets through there I
will try and keep him so that I can have his
help mornings and evenings. He wants to keep
our house his home, and appears to feel very
greatful that he has so good a home to come
to, when he got scard out of Ky. he feels consi-
derable more interest in our affairs than he
did before he went to war
Sep 25th. I quit writing yesterday to attend our
Soldiers Aid Society. I did not feel well enough
to go but our Society has had a rather sickly
existence for some time that I thot I better go.
Handwritten; 4 pages double folded, pencil on white stationery with light blue lines
