July 8, 45.
Dear Frank # Dorthy
I am up in Germany now, sweating out home if I ever get there, I sure don't like it at all, I would drather be back in France, the people over here stick their tongue out at you, and you got to stay in camp all the time, when you do go out, you got to carry a rifle along with you, I am near a town called nournburg [Nuremberg] it is tore up by our heavy bombers, I saw glen miller and his band about a week ago, and it sure was good Frank I have been getting your papers might along and sure injoy reading them, I am glad to hear that Gene Deppy is home now, I know he had a ruff life in a German prison camp, I see alot of the boys come out of them about half starved to death, and that an't all they marched them half away across Germany with out any food.
Frank you have to go through alot to get back to the states, it might be a month, and it might be six months, I am sure getting tired of moving around I have got plenty of points to get out, I am sure getting tired of the army. Well Frank I am getting
