I am going to make application for license to teach in this Co. and the law requires applicants to produce certificate of good character before license can be granted, and I am not acquainted with any of the Trustees of this place, and I wrote to the Trustee of Monroe Tp. last week and he did not reply, so I concluded to ask the same favor of you.
You are acquainted with my character and know what success I have had as a teacher, if you think me deserving a recommendation from you, and will send me a few lines to that tomorrow if posible you will confer a favor, - and receive the thanks of
