Nove 17 th 1861 [[Written in Margins] There is no room to rite And H Willon Nichols] Cuttineville Wester Vill Dear mother I this day sit my self down to rite you a few lines to let you know that i am well at this time and do hope when those few lines comes to hand they may find you all well I have nothing of much importance to rite the weather is cold here and the snow is shining on the mountains and valleys and we are building winter quarters here but we do not know whether we will stay here or not i am still wagg muster for our regment and i have the finest kind of a pony to ride all the time
