Description	Milton Nichols writes to his mother about being homesick, the harsh conditions of camp life, and the longing for news from home.
Transcription	Oct the 26 1861 Dear Mother I take this time to write you a few lines to let you know that i am well at this time and do hope that when those lines comes to hand they may find you all well Mother i have nothing [Page Stained] strang to write to you but that i have received them cloths that you sent me in the months of Sept the 24 of oat and a le letter dated the 10 of Sept Mother i am getting home sick or rather virginia sick we are camped in hgurt valley at Kuttonsville Wrhandolph co and there was one inch of ice this morning in the water pales all over the camp and the groung was louse untill noon A few lines to mary and Father i want you to write to me often and tell me how Sallie is a growing and what she thinks of the war and the rest of the news that is agoing about the town and tell mollie rose that i would like to see her and have a chat with her about the girls in virginia they wear no hoops and they look just like my betsy Writ soon Sarah Nichols and Sallie
