Transcription	Bloomington, Sept 26th [1861], Dear Brother, This being fast day, everything is as quiet as if it were Sunday. No business is going on, religious services being held in all the churches. Have just returned from Prof Wylie's church, where the Union Prayer Meeting is held. Could not get in for the crowd. My desire to hear from you reminds me that I have not answered your last. Have been very busy of late putting in wheat, of which I have sown and expect to sow 25 acres. The products of the farms are very cheap here which makes it better for the government.
