Bloomington Ind; Sept. 26th/61 Dear Brother Your letter came to hand last week. I was not at home when it came and after I come home I hardly knew where to direct a letter to you. To day Mr Faris got a letter from soem of his friends I dont know whether it was Jim or Beerse and Mullikens one from Bill they were mailed at Jefferson city so I thought that I would write to you there. We have heard here that your regiment had started to reinforce Mulliken at Lexington, but since hearing that we could get nothing reliable from the 22nd or 18th When you write again give the particulars so far as you know them, and write as often as you can, as we hear sometimes of the 22nd regiment moveing, and then hear nothing more of it for sometime, and the consequence is we dont know where to direct letters when we want to write to any of the boys. There are many regrets here that Mulliken had to surrender after fighting
