Ben Floyd, of Missouri, is the guest of his sister, Mrs. A. F. McCormick. Cecil Perkins has moved to Mathers town. This office will sell gasoline, more as an accommodation, than for the money. Dr. J. Kentling has returned from a business trip to Indianapolis. Mrs. David Guy, and daughter Edith of near Bloomington, visited at Ed Stulls Sunday. Mrs. Geo. Stipp and Miss Anna Grimes, visited the family of Newton Stipp, near Bedford, this week. Rev. Bair is holding revival meeting at the Linthicum Chapel, beginning last Sunday evening. BELL A Druggist of Harrodsburg Harrodsburg society is all excitement over the elopement of John Bell, the well known druggist, at that place, and the widow Louella ? of Kirksville, who has been married three times, her last husband, Walter Morgan, was killed one night by a train as he was coming home In an intoxicated condition. Mr. Bell was considered one of the leading citizei is of Harrodsburg, and his action is a great surprise He has beeft conductir g a well stocked drug store and was thought to have been doing a good business. He has a wife and five children. The last heard of them was a letter written by him in Chicago, telling his wife; he was not coming back any more and to do what ever she pleased with the store. Mrs. George Stipp, who has been visiting the family of her father, Silas Grimes, for the past month, will leave to-morrow for her home in Ensley, Alabama. Chesley Burris recievd a letter from his mother, who is visiting, relatives in Kentucky, stating that? she has lost her pocket book containing spectacles and quiet a sum of money After attending county institute last week and visiting home folks over Sunday, Miss Grace Hainey returned to her duties a mistress of the Linthicum schools Monday morning. Miss Mary Thrasher has bought of Grant Hazel, a fine new piano, which was dedicated by a number of friends last night. F. M. Holman and John Sylvester, have had their house repaired. Contrary to our common bebief he talked English without a bloomin' accent, and did not call the ladies "bloomin' skoits." S. Greer was absent from the mill all last week on account of illness. Anticipation anc^realization of the Thanksgiving dinner is given as the prime cause. John Forney is ill with an attack of l eart-burn. We dosed him with essence of pepsin last night which helped some. He chews too much tobacco fur a kid of his size. Chas. Sylvester has purchased Dimple, the Old Reliable, from W. McMill-en & Son. If the Auto is as good and faithful as Old Dimple, there will be no kicks or swear words coming. Mrs. J. Sweeney and Mrs. D. Wright spent Wednesday with Mrs. A. Forney. W. Sare has disposed of a valuable sorrel horse to Lou Fox. We think Fox got soaked for Wylie is a sharper. It looks as if it might be possible to start something to prevent this fine litrle paper from mak ng its weekly bow only three quarters dressed. Why not fill the empty page with an ad, or better still, start a homeliest girl contest among the Clear Creek maidens. Each one is sure to be a winner. W. Johnson, M. Cardwell, R. Jones and Wes Duvall attended the shooting match near the latters place on Thanksgiving day, after partaking of a rattling good dinner prepared by Mrs. Duvall, each one bagged a turkey at the shoot, which is going some. We note that Wild-cats are surrounding the town of Smithville preparatory to eating all the inhabitants thereof alive and kicking. We flatly refuse to believe this, as a Wild-cat must be in desperate straits indeed, and nearing the close of her ninth life, before she would have the colossal nerve to tackle an inhabitant of Smithville. Anther and wife spent a few days visiting in Lawrence county recently. Mrs. Mack Sare and daughter Mabel, and Miss Edna McConnell of Bloomington, visited at Whit Carpenters last Saturday. Dr. Hon and wife spent Thanksgiving with her parents Mr. and Mrs. N. K. McFadden. John T. Nance made a business trip to Indianapolis last Friday. Mrs. Minerva Anderson formerly a resident of this place, who died at Bedford last Friday night' was buried here Monday. Funeral was conducted by Rev, Bair, at the home of John T. Nance. Frank Snow of Bedford, came up with Hershel Clay Thanksgiving, and spent the day hunting. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Smallwood were surprised Friday evening by a number of their friends, old and young, calling on them before their departure to Florida to spend the winter. Mrs. Claud Smallwood and Byron Smallwood and family will accompany them. and family will accompany them. NOTICE. All my accounts not paid will be found with Drs.
