Mrs. William Riggle, Treas.
Sub-Dettas Club
Speed, Indiana
Dear Betty:
Please extend to the memebers of your Club my thanks for the recent contribution of $15.00 they made to the Service Men's Entertainment Fund. Too, I can assure them that their gift will be appreciated by the men who will benefit by it.
Without doubt, the sercie men who attent our parties do appreciate them because they go away and tell others about them. Only last party we had four men here who had just come to Fort Knox from Camp Polk, Louisiana--There they had met a soldier from Fort Knox who attended a party here last November, and he told them to be sure to come to Speed for a good time.
Our community has benefited from these parties, too, I think. We have had the opportunity to meet some 400 different men from all sections of our country, and from these contacts and through letters exchanged with their families, no doubt lasting friendships will be built.
It is the help of organizations such as yours and of loyal individuals who have given so freely of their time and money that makes these parties possible, and I assure you it is appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
Jesse G. Dorsey
