Dear Sir:
About two weeks ago, you will remember, I talked to you about entertaining somce of your boys here in our community at one of our weekend parties for service men. We have been having these parties for men form Fort Knox for more than a year, with ten or twelve present each time. They leave Louisville by bus at 5:30 on Saturday afternoon and, upon their arrival here about 6:15, are brought to our Community House which is reserved for them for the weekend.
We have two married couples, in addition to my wife and myself, who sponsor the weekend. As hostesses, we have ten or twelbe girls, mostly young and pretty, with two or three older girls to give some balance to the group. These girls have been serving as hostesses since the beginning of these parties and are quite experienced now in helping the fellows have a good time.
About 6:45 a good dinner is served with the soldiers, the girls and the sponsors all eating together. Everyone has a share in cleaning up the dishes after dinner, then the rest of the evening is spent in playing games and dancing. About 11:30 we have soft drinks and any food left from dinner, then the cots are gotten our and the beds made by the girls, usually, with the help of the boys. After the sponsors have taken the girls home, I usually have a "bull session" with the boys before they go to bed.
On Sunday morning the girls and sponsors return and prepare a breakfast of fruit juice, eggs, bacon, hot sweet rolls, coffee and milk which is served to the entire group. After the dishes are washed and put away, the group goes to Sunday School and morning worship service at our local
