Capt. Charles L. Carpenter
Chaplain, Hdq. Regional Hospital
Fort Knox, Kentucky
Dear Chaplain Carpenter:
Your letter inviting our group of girls to visit the hospital was received and much appreciated. We do want to come but it will be impossible for us to do so on NOv. 5th as you suggested. Could you give us another date, possibly Nov. 19th?
The only problem connected with our coming is getting enough cars for the trip. As you know, gasoline is at a premium and very few of our people can make many such trips. As soon as I hear from you as to whether or not you want us to come on Nov. 19th, I will get busy and try to find the cars to bring us.
We will be glad to bring doughnuts and cider if that is satisfactory, and if cider is abailable at the time we come.
I do appreciate your letter and I hope we can see you soon.
Sincerely,
Jesse G. Dorsey
