DEAR MARVIN:
YOUR LETTER WRITTEN APRIL 13TH WAS RECEIVED THE 21ST; THAT SEEMS TO ME TO BE MIGHTY GOOD TIME. I WAS VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN THE ARTICLE ABOUT THE WORK OF THE ATC IN AFRICA. I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS SUCH AN AIR ROUTE ACROSS THE CONTINENT. YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THE PEOPLE THERE IN CENTRAL AFRICA WERE VERY INTERESTING--JUST WISH YOU CUOLD HAVE WRITTEN MORE.
I WAS ESPECIALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE FACT THAT YOUR MESS BOY WANTED A BIBLE. I FEEL THAT SUCH A DESIRE OF ANYONE ANYWHERE SHOULD BE SUPPLIED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
AS YOU NO DOUBT REMEMBER, I HAVE BEEN SUPERINTENDENT OF THE JUNIOR DEPARTMENT OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. I THOUGHT THE SENDING OF THE BIBLE TO THE BOY WOULD BE A GOOD PROJECT FOR THE DEPARTMENT, SO I ASKED THE BOYS AND GIRLS SUNDAY IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO DO IT, AND OF COURSE THEY WANTED TO DO IT. I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED THE BIBLE LAST WEEK IN ORDER TO HAVE IT READY TO SEND, SO I PUT IT IN THE MAIL TODAY. IT WILL BE PAID FOR OUT OF THE BIRTHDAY OFFERING OF THE JUNIOR DEPARTMENT.
I HOPE THE BIBLE IWLL ARRIVE BEFORE LONG AND THAT YOU CAN GIVE IT TO THE BOY. IF HE ALREADY HAS ONE, YOU CAN SEE THAT IT GETS TO SOME OTHER NATIVE WHO WUOLD LIKE TO HAVE IT. IF THE BOY WRITES ENGLISH, I AM SURE THE GIRLS AND BOYS HERE WOULD GET A GREAT KICK OUT OF HEARING FROM HIM WHEN HE RECEIVED THE BIBLE.
I'LL BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN ANYTIME YOU CAN WRITE--I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR LETTERS.
SINCERELY,
JESSE G. DORSEY
