NEW YORK, N. Y.
DEAR GENE:
OF COURSE I REMEMBER YOU AND YOUR BUDDY, GENE MCMAHON. I CAN SEE YOU NOW, SITTING ON MY DIVAN WITH YOUR KNEES WAY UP IN THE AIR- -WHO COULD FORGET YOUR SIX FEET, THREE OR FOUR INCHES! AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW I WAS MIGHTY GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU FROM WAY OFF IN NORTH AFRICA AND TO KNOW THAT AFTER NEARLY SEVEN MONTHS YOU STILL REMEMBERED OUR LITTLE TOWN AND YOUR VISIT HERE.
YOUR CARD HAS BEEN READ BY A NUMBER OF THE FOLKS HERE WHO ALSO REMEMBER YOU, AND THEY TOO ARE GLAD TO KNOW THAT YOU STILL REMEMBER US. SOMETIME AFTER THE WAR IS OVER YOU MAY DECIDE THAT YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM NEW YORK CITY FOR A WHILE, AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO COME THIS WAY, YOU CAN BE SURE WE WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE YOU.
IF YOU SHOULD BE WRITING GENE MCMAHON, I HOPE YOU WILL TELL MIN HE TOO IS REMEMBERED HERE IN SPEED.
SHOULD YOU FEEL LIKE WRITING ME AGAIN, I SHALL BE VERY GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU. THE BEST OF LUCK TO YOU.
SINCERELY,
JESSE G. DORSEY
