That is the Question end towards the street.
Following each federal census
redistricting of voting units is
considered to assure more even
representation. With the shift of
population within the town limits of
Greentown to the east, there has been
discussion of what, if anything, to do
about redrawing the lines of
Greentow'n's five wards. Council
President, James Harris, attended a
conference on redistricting and reported
to the Council at the May meeting that
since Greentown has population under
3,500 they could do away with wards
and elect all Council members at- large.
He reported that the Town can also
leave the wards as they are, even
though they are not equal in population.
Members of the Council could not
come to a consensus'on what to do,
with Dan Adams voicing his opinion
for electing all at- large. A vote was not
called for but Harris instructed the
Council members to be ready for a vote
at the June 4 meeting.
0 Must be stacked as close as possible
to the street but not in an alley or on
any street or sidewalk.
0 Anything with thorns must be tied
and bundled with 2 pieces or more of
twine.
0 The Town will only pick up " minor"
tree trimmings unless it is storm
related, no stumps, no whole trees,
whole shrubs, or whole bushes.
0 No grass clippings, yard or garden
waste will be picked up.
0 No burning of leaves is permitted in
the street.
0 All materials to be picked up must be
able to be loaded easily onto a truck by
one person.

The newly formed Greentown Firemen's Honor Guard " rang the bell" in memory
of deceased members of the Company. The observance was part of a program
held jointly by the Fire Company and the Greentown Historical Society on May 21
at the firehouse. There were disptays depicting the history of the fire company.
Firemen talked about their training, the dedication it takes to be a fireman, and
the satisfaction of the job. Many expressions of thanks to the community for their
support were given. Sandy Hendricks of the Auxiliary talked about the supporting
role the wives play.
The Honor Guard is, left to right, Rob Maines, Scott Comfort, Jim Custer, and
Jerry Myers. They are available to the community for ceremonies involving
Presentation of the Colors and other such duties.
