The # 1 ranked Lady Comets
ended a fantastic 31- 3 season
with the win. They were led by
seniors Breanna Howell,
Cayleigh and Cassie Harvey
and Tracie Lamb who
completed their softball playing
days at Eastern High School.
Breanna gave up only 3 earned
runs in the seven games of the
tournament and the hitting was
led by Cassie Harvey batting

Eastern survived a tough
Sectional at home winning
games zgainst Oak Hill 3- 0,
Taylor 1- 0 and Madison Grant

Oak Hill was a difficult win
highlighted by a pitching no
hitter from Howell who also led
the team at the plate going 3 for
4. Taylor gave the Comets all
they wanted before losing on a
run scored by Molly Haines
courtesy running for Howell
after a one out’ double by
Breanna in the third inning.
Mnllv was driven in hv a Cassie
and a. bases loaded double from
Cassie Harvey down the left
field ljne. This inning provided
all the runs the Lady Comets
would need for the Sectional
Championship win.
The Regional required
boarding Carol Wimmer’s bus
the following Saturday for a fire
truck escort and fan caravan out
of town and a 2 hour bus ride to
Garrett. We watched Lewis
Cass defeat Eastside in the first
game then took the field against
Heritage. We were hoping for a
relatively easy game as Howell
and the Harvey’s were
recovering from a virus, but it
wasn’t to happen. It was a long
and hot I3 innings before we
survived 1- 0 on a Ericka
Schmid single to right field that
scored Cayleigh Harvey who
