The Monroe County Community Collection contains digital items about the history and culture of Monroe County donated to the project by organizations that provided volunteers or staff to scan, index, and transcribe the materials. The collection contains the early county commissioner books, city ordinances, city directories, yearbooks, Showers Brother's newsletter Shop Notes, and local organizations.
Early contributors are Monroe County Public Library, Monroe County History Center, City of Bloomington Clerk’s Office, Monroe County Clerk’s Office, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. More contributors will join us as our county prepares for its bicentennial in 2018. This project is coordinated by Monroe County Public Library but is made possible by the Indiana State Library and Indiana Memory and we enthusiastically express our appreciation for this opportunity.
