Shadyside Park was dedicated in 1923 to the Veterans of all Wars. It covers 38.1 acres and is Anderson's largest park. The Japanese Gardens are still part of the park and have been recently re-furbished.
Shadyside Park, Anderson's largest city park, was dedicated in 1923. The grotto, a stone structure in the park's valley, is home to one of Anderson's most persistent legends. Many people claims that bears were kept caged in the grotto caves.
